An 18-year old girl will file charges against the younger brother of business tycoon Lucio Tan and his family for physical, emotional, and psychological abuse.
The victim, Mary Jane Sollano, accused Mariano Tanenglian, his wife Aleta, and their two children of serious illegal detention and child abuse. Sollano said for five years, she was not allowed to leave the house of Tan. Also, she was deprived of communication to her family and that she was often left in the house with nothing to eat. Her own parents even thought she was dead.
The family, through their personal counsel, Atty. Anna Marie Trinidad, said that they will pursue the charges despite the waiver Tanenglian’s lawyers gave the family as a condition for Sollano’s release last Monday.
